Exploring Coorg , Karnataka

Absolutely unplanned!

Sunday morning got up at 5 am. Finished my bath and i was ready. My friend chethan called me, he said he'l be picking me up in another 5 minutes. We din't had a proper plan. we decided to head over to Hunsur first. We started at 5.45 and we had our first pitstop in Hunsur. There we planned the route.

Bike - Bajaj Discover
Average Speed - 58kmph
Mileage - 68km per/Lt

The Route
-

Mysore - Hunsur - Periyapatna - Maldare Forest -
Siddapura  - Ammati - Virajpete - Chelavara Falls

Chelavara Falls - Virajpete - Gonikoppa - Palibetta - Siddapura - Maldare Forest -
Periyapatna  - Hunsur - Mysore

After Ilawala, a place near Mysore. We were cruising around 60kmph still we did not had a proper route plan.

Had a stomachfull breakfast in Periyapatna. We decided to deviate towards Maldare forest road which leads to siddapura further, the starting point of the coorg. Nearly upto 7 kms, the road was killing our bike tyres.

Then it all started feeling cold breeze, oh yes the forest wind, imagining the wild elephants and we stayed at 50 kmph throughout the forest route enjoying lovely forest curves

The road was too beautiful and we could hear sound of leaves for the wind. The location was a typical core coorg

It was around 9am we had already reached the coorg part of the forest. There were only coffee estates, and the road was too good.

Just outskirts of Ammati, found this attractive kerla style temple. Took our time for short refreshment.

We had already reached Virajpete. We decided to head towards Chelavara falls which was about 25km approx from the virajpet town

Around 12.45 we were already in virajpete town

We did some portrait sessions and i had a leech in my leg which was already dead :D

Enroute to Chelavara falls, Coorg

3 years before the road quality wasn't good as of now and we reached the falls

This was one of the Elegant waterfalls in coorg. We had to do some short trekking from the road to reach to the basement of the falls. We had hard sun rays for few minutes and we had drizzling for another few minutes. This continued throughout the time when we were near to the falls. It was pure pearl of water falls and the sun rays were beaming through it. we spent around an hour and decided to return to virajpet town

It was exact 2 pm when we reached virajpet. Couldnt find any hotel of our choice. Straight away we travelled to Gonikoppal and had our food in Guru Raghavendra hotel. We din't had a plan to going back to Mysore from gonikappa. It was still 2 pm. We decided to head over to Palibetta siddapura route, again to reach piriyapatna and Hunsur.

After deviating from Gonikoppa towards Palibetta route

There wasn't much vehicles in this route. But coffee estates were too dense. The road is good. We were already exhausted. We somehow travelled back through siddapura and reached piriyaptna. The time was 6pm. we reached Mysore around 7.20 pm
