Exploring Western Ghats, Karnataka

It was 1 week before we decided for a 2 day trip.. And this time we had Royal Enfield.. And we din't had to worry about much about the time keep up. We were thinking coastal this time.. we had left Dharmasthala Kukke Subramanya visit for many more days.. So we decided Kukke Dharmasthala. Dharmasthala halt for a day. And next day we wanted to visit kukke.

Bike - Bullet Electra 350

Average Speed - 75kmph

The route

Mysore - Holenarasipura - Arkalgud - Kodlipet - Manjrabadfot - Shiradighat - Dharmasthala - Kukke Subrahmanya - Sullia - Madikeri - Mysore.

It was 5.30 we got up and it became 6am as we left mysore city. Our first pit stop was near Holenarasipura.

We left Holenarasipura and then we headed towards coorg district.. we passed Arkalgud. And then we had another stop near kodlipete

After this mini stop, then we started towards sakleshpur. On the way we had to take deviation towards Shiradi Ghat. On the way we went to Manjrabad Fort. It was too hot during the visit. we were exhausted. so we dint had a photo session of the fort. Later we had a cocunut water, and we started towards shiradi ghat to reach dharmasthala.

What a ride it was. Shiradi ghat is completely alright now. Few kilometers of cement road, awesome curves, constant speed, thick forest, pleasant sound, continuous tankers on the road and the thump. All these together made our journey. Ours is the only 2 wheeler we found during the ghat journey.

Later we took a deviation from shiradi ghat and travelled for about 25kms towards dharmasthala. And it was 12.30 as the time we reach the place. we stayed in a lodge and We had nice darshana of Shri Manjunatha Swami and we slept for 2 hours and we were refreshed again. At evening we visited the museum in the town and we had another round of darshana of Manjunatha swami and we finished our day.

The next day, its sunday. Its all set to travel towards Kukke Subrahmanya. We started at 6.30am from dharmasthala.

This is near Gundya forest. It was almost mist covered during the journey.

Its almost 20kms away from Kukke Subrahmanya.  And we had a nice stretch of road and climate.

We almost took 20min break for the photo sessions. And we were too hungry

It was 10am we had nice drashana in Kukke. We took sullia madikeri route to reach Mysore. And we took a stop on the way to sullia.

We alomost took half and hour break. And that's my friend chethan who came along with me.

Its all about the experience. Overall, It was a nice journey. We were exhausted when we reach back mysore. It was mainly because of the humid climate we had in Kukke and Dharmasthala. We were tired when we rode back from kukke to madikeri, again because of the hot wind and humid climate and a little back pain because of the stock handlebar as well as stock seats of my beloved enfield.
